1-6. Procedure for Replacing All Compressors in the Same System

Always recover all the refrigerant and oil in the same system without releasing them into the open air. Perform opera-
tions according to the flowchart below. Never reuse the recovered refrigerant and oil.
Start
Turn off each outdoor unit
Short-circuit the AP service pins on the PCBs of each outdoor unit, and then turn on each outdoor unit (NOTE 1)
Recover all the refrigerant in the system (use a refrigerant recycler (recovery device)) (NOTE 2)
Recover oil from the oil separators in each outdoor unit Ref. P VII-4
Turn off each outdoor unit
Replace all compressors in each outdoor unit
Install the dry cores and ball valves in the liquid pipe of each outdoor unit Ref. Fig. B on P VII-20
Short-circuit the AP service pins on the PCBs of each outdoor unit, and then turn on each outdoor unit (NOTE 3)
Inspect for leaks at the modified locations of each outdoor unit
Measure the oil level for each outdoor unit Ref. P VII-13
Make a vacuum in all systems Ref. P VII-13
Inject oil and refrigerant Ref. P VII-16
Remove the short-circuit at the AP service pin on the PCB of each outdoor unit (NOTE 4)
Inject refrigerant until full (NOTE 5) Ref. P VII-13
Clean the dry core within the system Ref. P VII-13
End
NOTE
1. When the AP service pin is short-circuited, the compressors and fans are stopped, the solenoid
valves and electronic expansion valves are fully opened, and all transmission is stopped.
2. Be sure to first check the injection amount, and then check the recovery amount.
3. Always make the short-circuit before turning on the power.
4. If the short-circuit of the AP service pin is removed when the power is left on, transmission with
the C.C.U. is restarted.
5. Perform this operation if you were unable to inject the specified amount using the normal injec-
tion procedure.
