Selecting Bilingual Soundtrack Mode
(PLAY Mode)
[MENU]
You can switch between the main soundtrack and substitute
soundtrack when playing back a bilingual video cassette.
During playback of a bilingual video cassette, the current
setting will be displayed in the viewfinder.

MODE SELECT Button
1.
Press MODE SELECT button to select PLAY
mode.
2.
Press MENU button once.
• MENU is displayed in viewfinder.
• Make sure the arrow is aligned with BILINGUAL.
3.
Press SELECT button to select soundtrack.
• Each time SELECT button is pressed, display in
viewfinder changes as follows:
No display - MAIN - SUB - MAIN 4- SUB
MAIN:
Main soundtrack playback only
SUB:
Substitute soundtrack playback only
MAIN
+
SUB:
Simultaneous main and substitute
soundtrack playback (MAIN from left
channel, SUB from right channel)
No display:
For normal playback
4. Press MENU button once.
• Menu disappears from viewfinder.
5. Press PLAY ► button.
•When camera is switched to CAMERA mode, it goes
back to normal mode.
Hint:
•You can select sound mode during playback.
Note:
• During playback of tape recorded in stereo or monaural,
select no display setting.
Explanation:
Bilingual Video Cassettes
Bilingual video cassettes incorporate two separate
soundtracks, such as two different languages, through the
use of a special recording system. At present, video
cassettes recorded by this system are available in a few
countries.
