Polling To Receive Faxes
The MultiPASS L90's polling feature allows you to request a document to be
faxed to you from another fax machine. The sender only needs to make sure the
document is on his fax machine and ready to be sent: when your MultiPASS L90
polls that machine, the document is sent automatically. The MultiPASS L90 can
poll any fax machine that supports polling. (This process doesn't work in reverse,
however: the MultiPASS L90 can not be polled by other fax machines.)
Polling a Fax Machine
To poll another fax machine and receive a document from it, do the following:
1. Press FUNCTION, then POLLING.
2. Press SET.
3. Enter the destination(s) to poll. You can do this by:
4. Press START/COPY and the unit will start to poll automatically.
If the sender is using a Canon fax machine which has the Polling ID function, ask
him to set the Polling ID of his fax to 255 (1111 1111 binary number).
For details on the Polling ID, refer to the sender's fax machine manual. In all
other cases the Polling ID is not a concern.
