P8088 Overview
The Timport P8088 is based around the StaTAC 160 (StarTAC X), but is supported by the StarTAC
210 1.8V. Hardware and is being launched as a Startac 160 refresh product. P8088 is a dual band
cellular handset with a 96 x 32 graphics display, and uses the 3V only, 5V only or the 3 / 5V mini SIM
cards.
Supports HR / FR / EFR and EGSM. There will only be a manual band select option for Asia
Unit will support both simple and complex CKE and there will be new keypads for these.
Launched under the Timeport branding logo, this product is aimed at Time Managers / Career builders.
The wakeup text will support any Co-branding.
Launched initially in Platinum Silver, the P8088 will be different to the existing StarTAC 160 (X) in
the following ways:
• There are now no Aux Battery contacts, however all the mechanical features will still exist for
attachment of accessories.
• New Main batteries
• No Planned Li-Ion Battery
• Whitecap hardware – 1.8V technology
• New Mechanical parts – housings
• New Branding and Lens
• Not Compatible with existing hang up cups for DHFA or Desktop charger.
• Same Key layout, but different graphics on the keys.
