8. Use only the power supply that came with this unit. Using other power supplies may damage the unit. 9. Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should have at least one phone in your home that isn’t cordless, in case the power in your home goes out.
Getting Started Battery Safety Instructions • Do not burn, disassemble, mutilate, or puncture the battery. The battery contains toxic materials that could be released, resulting in injury. • Caution: There is a risk of explosion if you replace the battery with an incorrect battery type. Use only the battery that came with your phone or an authorized replacement recommended by the manufacturer.
Installing the Batteries 1 Remove any stickers if present. 2 Press on the indentation on the battery door, and slide upwards to remove. 3 Plug connector into the receptacle, and insert the battery into the compartment. (Make sure that the black wire is on the right hand side to ensure proper connection.) 4 Replace the battery door.
Charging the Camera Battery 1 Plug the power cord into the back of the swivel base. 2 Plug the power cord into an electric outlet. Note: The initial battery charging time for your new camera is at least 12 hours. The camera operates using a charged battery or while plug into an outlet.
Setting Up Registering Your Camera You can register up to 8 devices (handsets, cameras, or Cell Dock) to a base unit. To register your new camera: 1 Press and hold the Registration button located beneath the speaker on the camera. 2 Press and hold the PAGE button on base unit.

Deregistering a Device 1 Listen to messages to clear the message waiting LED. 2 Press on the base unit. 3 Press and hold down PAGE on the base unit until the IN USE indicator begins to flash slowly, and then release. 4 Press and hold down PAGE again until the IN USE indicator begins to flash quickly, and then release PAGE.
Placing Your Camera You can place your camera on a flat surface, like a desk or you can use the mounting kit (included) to place your camera on a wall. 1 Cut out the template on the following page and place it against the wall where you wish to mount the camera.
Using Your Camera Monitoring a Room with Your Camera Place your camera in a room that you wish to monitor. If you are using the SD4501 handset, you can hear any activity in the room. The SD4502 handset with color display lets you see and hear activity in the room.
Lighting Tips for Your Camera Your camera has night vision capability. The camera senses light levels and adjusts accordingly. The night vision works only when your camera is plugged into a wall outlet. Night vision images have less and less color as the lighting level is reduced becoming black and white once night vision mode is fully engaged.
Setting Contrast for SD4502 Handset 1 Press Menu. 2 Scroll to and select Display Set Up. 3 Scroll to and select Set Contrast. 4 Adjust the contrast setting by using the scroll keys. 5 Press OK to save changes. Note: The camera should never be pointed directly at the sun or damage may occur.
