Introduction Thank you for purchasing the MPrint MW-145MFi mobile printer (hereinafter referred to as "the printer"). This is a slim, lightweight thermal black-and-white mobile printer, which, by connecting to a computer or mobile device, can print via simple operations. This document describes how to consult instruction manuals and other points users should know to implement basic printer operations.

Insert the connector 1 of the Black battery in the direction shown at right. Insert the connector fully, without using excessive force. Pay attention to the battery cord colors and be sure you insert the connector in the correct orientation, otherwise it may be damaged.

Charging Use the AC adapter designed specifically for this printer to charge the battery. After purchasing this printer, be sure to charge the battery fully before using it (the charging indicator light lights up in orange while charging). Plug the AC adapter cord into the printer.
After charging is finished, disconnect the AC adapter. The printer cannot be operated solely with the AC adapter. The rechargeable battery must be installed. Indicator lights A blue or green status indicator light indicates the printer is operating correctly, while a red light indicates an error has occurred.

This printer is powered with a rechargeable Li-ion battery. If the printer can only be used for a short period of time even though the battery is fully charged, the battery may have reached the end of its service life. Replace the rechargeable Li-ion battery with a new one.
Turning the printer on/off Press and hold the power switch for a short while. Press and hold the power switch until Power switch the green or blue status indicator light is lit. When the printer is turned on, the status indicator light is: Green (if Bluetooth is switched off) Blue (if Bluetooth is switched on)
Using Bluetooth Use the Bluetooth switch to select whether to use Bluetooth communication. Turn on the Bluetooth switch to transmit data using Bluetooth. Bluetooth communication ON When data is printed using a USB, we recommend turning off the Bluetooth switch to save power. ...
Preparing the paper cassette Use only the paper cassette designed exclusively for this printer. Use of any other paper may cause paper misfeeds or damage the printer main unit. Prepare the paper cassette before loading it into the printer. Firmly fold the lid back along the fold 1.

Communication Using Bluetooth Technology Precautions for printing data using Bluetooth If using a computer, make sure the Bluetooth function is available for the computer or mobile device before installing the printer driver for the printer. The following instructions outline the basic procedures to make a Bluetooth connection.

On the computer or mobile device, open the screen used for establishing a Bluetooth connection. Search for Bluetooth devices from the Bluetooth connection screen. ***** ***** "MW-145MF_ " should be found, where " " is the last four digits of the printer serial number. Select this printer from the list of Bluetooth devices found, and establish the connection.
Printer driver Use this driver to print data from the printer. Manuals You can download the software installer from the Brother website (http://www.brother.com/inst). Double-click the downloaded ".exe" file and follow the on-screen instructions to start installation. Before installation begins, you are prompted to select software and manuals in the dialog box that presents items to be installed.
Appendix Maintenance Turn off the printer before cleaning it. Cleaning the surface of the printer Clean off any dust or other dirt from the printer by wiping it using a soft, dry cloth. If the printer is extremely dirty, wipe it using a slightly damp cloth. Do not use benzene, paint thinners, or any other solvents, otherwise the printer may become discolored or deformed.

To protect valuable resources, do not dispose of used batteries; instead, take them to your local recycling shop that handles rechargeable batteries or to the Brother battery collection center. When disposing of the battery, do not remove the plating, or disassemble the battery. When sending the battery to the Brother battery collection center, you will be required to pay the shipping cost.

Frequently Asked Questions I often wound the cable of the charging AC adapter around the adapter or bent the cable to move the adapter. This often causes the cable to break and the adapter to stop working. When carrying the AC adapter, securely bind the cable using a tie wrap to prevent any load from being applied to the cable.

For Brother mobile printers, make sure you use paper supplied by Brother. If other paper has been used, paper feed failures may occur frequently, which cannot be solved by cleaning the paper feed mechanism. For any failures caused by paper other than Brother paper, you will be liable for repair costs even if the charge-free warranty period is still in effect.

If the printer has been moved to a cool temperature environment: The printer may not work when the ambient temperature is lower than 0 °C/32 °F. In an ultralow temperature environment (at -10 °C/ 14 °F or lower), the number of printable pages becomes less. Print data from the printer in a location with an ambient temperature of 0 °C/32 °F or higher.
