    Your computer comes with antivirus software that you can use to detect and eliminate viruses. Lenovo provides a full version of antivirus software on your hard disk drive with a free 30-day subscription. After 30 days, you must renew the license to continue receiving the antivirus program updates.

Software provided by Lenovo The following software programs are provided by Lenovo to help you improve productivity and reduce the cost associated with maintaining your computer. Software programs provided with your computer might vary depending on your model type and preinstalled operating system.

    This diagnostic program works through the Windows operating system to diagnose hardware problems and report operating-system-controlled settings that can cause hardware failures. See “Lenovo System Toolbox” on page 37 for more information. Note: The Lenovo System Toolbox program is only available on computers preinstalled with Windows Vista or Windows XP from Lenovo.

    Lenovo might make changes and enhancements to the POST and BIOS. When updates are released, they are available as downloadable files on the Lenovo Web site at http://www.lenovo.com. Instructions for using the POST/BIOS updates are available in a TXT file that is included with the update files. For most models, you can download either an update program to create a system-program-update (flash) disc or an update program that can be run from the operating system.

Optical mouse An optical mouse uses a light-emitting diode (LED) and an optical sensor to navigate the pointer.
