Background The failure indicators alternately flash USB and Parallel LEDs, and they continue to flash after the update completes. In this state, the WPS870G is completely inaccessible and no longer functions as a print server. The following procedure corrects this failure and insures that the update process completes successfully.

5. Click OK when the Setup is Complete! window appears. Updating the WPS870G 1. Connect the WPS870G to the router through the Ethernet interface and power it on. Connect the PC that will run the application software to the same router through the Ethernet and make sure that it can communicate with the router.

4. The main application window appears. Click the Browse Icon 5. The utility will search the network for the WPS870G. Once it is located, a window similar to the following appears. 6. Click Files and navigate to the location where the firmware file, WPS870G_FW110.bin, is located. The default path is: C:\Motorola_HomeNet\WPS870G. After selecting the file, click OK when the BIN File Information window appears. 7. Click Upgrade to begin the upgrade process.
Uninstalling the WPS870G Installation Utility After you verify that you have successfully upgraded the WPS870G, you can remove the installation utility. 1. Select Start -> All Programs -> Ugutil -> Uninstall. This will uninstall the Upgrade Utility application.
