How to Read the Display
Please read this instead of P.8~P.10 in the MK5000 User's Guide.
Character input method Displays the character input method settings.

Half cut setting
a: Alphanumeric characters (lowercase)
A: Alphanumeric characters (uppercase)
R: Romaji ひ: Kana カ: Katakana
Indicates which of the two input modes is selected.
: Insert mode
(No indication): Overwrite mode
Displays the printing speed settings.
H: High M: Middle L: Low
The settings for adding a half cut to tubes or label tapes
are indicated by the following symbols.
: Half cut.
: Not half cut, but a solid line is printed
showing where to cut with scissors, etc.
: Not half cut, but a dotted line is printed
showing where to cut with scissors, etc.
(No indication) : Not half cut, and no cutting line is printed.
