PREPARING TO USE THE BATTERY CHARGER
Connecting the Battery Charger to AC Power
®
The NEC Versa
4000 Series Battery Charger lets you recharge Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion)
batteries for your NEC Versa 4000 series notebook computer. It takes approximately 2
hours to fully charge a single battery pack using your battery charger.
The battery charger consists of two bays allowing you to charge one or two batteries
sequentially. To charge batteries, simply connect the AC adapter and power cable to
the battery charger and insert the battery packs as described in this sheet.
This sheet describes the following:

To charge one or two battery packs sequentially, first connect the AC adapter, and then
insert the Li-Ion battery pack(s) described as follows.
Follow these instructions to connect the AC adapter to the battery charger.
Plug the DC power cable into the port on the back of the battery charger.

Connect one end of the AC power cable to the AC adapter.

Plug the other end of the AC power cable into a properly grounded wall outlet.

NOTE The NEC Versa 4000 Series battery charger does not charge an extremely hot or cold battery. For example, when a hot battery is inserted into a bay, the status LED on that bay lights yellow, and does not begin charging until the battery cools down. -
