Chapter 1 Introduction Thank you for purchasing Lenovo's ThinkSystem Analog 1x8 KVM Switch (model: SM27A17643). SM27A17643 switch is the most user-friendly 1U KVM switch for accessing 8 servers. If establishing a two-tier SM27A17643 KVM system, you can even access a maximum of 64 servers.
Chapter 2 ThinkSystem Analog 1x8 KVM Switch A ThinkSystem Analog 1x8 KVM Switch is a KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) switch that enables you to control multiple servers from a single set of keyboard, mouse, and monitor. There is only one model, and its model name is SM27A17643. With the SM27A17643 switch, a user can access a maximum of 8 connected servers.

Chapter 2: ThinkSystem Analog 1x8 KVM Switch Front View Turn on after powering on the SM27A17643 switch. Power LED Turn off for "inactive" channels. Channel LEDs Turn on for "active" channels. The color is white, and will turn green when any channel is being accessed.

Chapter 4: Using the On-Screen Display Interface Channel ID Whenever you access a channel, a channel ID is displayed onscreen. By default, it displays for only 5 seconds. To extend the display time, see System Settings (on page 21). If you turn on the channel scan function, the channel IDs are also displayed to indicate the channel that is being scanned.

User Management The product provides one administrator and 127 user accounts. Administrator account: Default name: admin Default password: lenovo User accounts: Default names: user001 through user127 Default passwords are NOT available. You CANNOT remove the built-in administrator and user accounts, but you can change their passwords or rename any user accounts.
