    STEP 1 Setting Up the Machine Remove the packing materials from the machine Important Save all packing materials and the carton in case you have to ship your machine. Improper Setup DO NOT plug in the AC power cord yet. Remove the packing tape from the outside of the machine.

    Installing the toner cartridges Unpack the toner cartridges and rock each toner cartridge from side to side 5 to 6 times. Pull off the protective cover. Hold the handle of the toner cartridge and slide it into the drum unit. Make sure that you match the toner cartridge color to the same color label on the drum unit, and make sure that you fold down the toner cartridge handle (1) once the...

    STEP 1 Setting Up the Machine While pressing the green paper-guide release lever (1), slide the paper guides to fit the paper size. Make sure that the guides are firmly in the slots. Fan the stack of paper well to avoid paper jams and misfeeds.

    Warning • The machine must be grounded using a 3-prong plug. • Since the machine is grounded through the power outlet, you can protect yourself from potentially hazardous electrical conditions on the telephone network by keeping the power cord connected to your machine when you connect it to a telephone line.
