emoving and Replacing the
Computer Covers
To troubleshoot problems inside the computer, you need
to remove one or both of the computer covers.

Removing the Computer Covers

Use the following procedure to remove the computer
covers:
1.
Observe the precautions in "Safety First—For
You and the Computer" found earlier in this
chapter. Also observe the safety instructions at
the front of this guide.

Turn the cover's keylocks on the back panel of the
computer (see Figure 7-1) to the unlocked
position.

Loosen the three screws along the back edge of
the side cover (see Figure 7-2).
4.
Slide the cover an inch or so toward the back of
the computer, grasp the top of the cover at both
ends, and lift it straight away from the chassis.
