Disposing of your old NEC product
Within the European Union
EU-wide legislation, as implemented in each Member
State, requires that waste electrical and electronic
products carrying the mark (left) must be disposed of
separately from normal household waste. This includes
monitors and electrical accessories, such as signal cables or power
cords. When you need to dispose of your NEC display products,
please follow the guidance of your local authority, or ask the shop
where you purchased the product, or if applicable, follow any
agreements made between yourself and NEC.
The mark on electrical and electronic products only applies to the
current European Union Member States.
Outside the European Union
If you wish to dispose of used electrical and electronic products
outside the European Union, please contact your local authority so
as to comply with the correct disposal method.

Cautions
• Connect the speakers before installing the monitor.
• Be sure to follow the directions in the monitor's operating manual with regard to the number of people it takes to safely handle the monitor and
the handling conditions.
• Make sure that the monitor is stable before connecting the speakers.
(Be sure to attach the self-supporting stand to the monitor referring to the monitor's operating manual before connecting the speakers.)
Installation conditions
• These speakers are connected to the back of the monitor. If the monitor is placed too close to obstructions such as walls or curtains, the sound
from the speakers might be muffled. Make sure that the monitor is placed at least 10 cm away from obstructions such as walls or curtains.
• The sound quality of the speakers will differ according to the acoustics of the room.
Attaching the speakers
Follow these steps to connect the speakers to the monitor:
1. Turn off the power to the monitor.
2. Remove the handles on the back of the monitor. (There will be two or four handles, depending on the monitor.) (Figure 1)
Caution
Do not use the handles and screws removed here when connecting the speakers.
3. Align each bracket with its holders and attach the brackets and holders to the back of the monitor using the flat head screws supplied with the
speakers. (Figure 2)
The place where the brackets and holders are screwed onto the monitor is not the place where the handles were.
Caution
Be careful to use the correct holder for each position (top, bottom, left, and right).
4. Attach the speakers to the holders using the pan head screws supplied with the speakers. (Figure 3)
Caution
Attach the top of the speaker to the top holder first, and then the bottom of the speaker to the bottom holder.
Caution
Make sure that the left and right speakers are on the correct side.
5. Once the speakers are attached to the monitor, connect the speaker cables supplied with the speakers to the speakers and the monitor. (Figure 4
The red cable (+) connects to the red (+) terminal on the speaker, and the black cable (−) connects to the black (−) terminal.
6. Turn on the power to the monitor.
Do not hold or lift the monitor by the speakers when moving the monitor.
Be sure to observe the cautions described in the monitor's operating manual when handling the monitor.
