1 Introduction
In order to keep the VPi-series running the day-to-day maintenance, is be covered by you, a trained
operator. Only in case of malfunction or in case of scheduled service-maintenance, the local service
organization is involved.
The actions below are considered to be normal maintenance actions which can be executed by every
trained operator. Additional information can be found in the user guide which is available on:

1. Replace the ink-containers
2. Replace the waste containers (ink and water)
3. Add water to the PIM-conditioning
4. Replace the flip rings from the High Capacity Stacker
5. Replace the tissue cassettes
6. Replace the tissue ribbons
7. Clean the Z-sensors
8. Clean the SZ-sensors
9. Clean the print belt
10. Clean the inner side of the print belt.
When applicable the items above are not described in detail, but a reference is made to the user
guide which contains this information.
In order to increase the uptime of the system, it is possible to give an additional training, which
enables you to conduct a number of maintenance actions which are normally executed by the
service engineer. In addition you can do some checks and execute 'normal' maintenance actions
preventive which might prevent future problems and/or increase the uptime.
This document describes the so called 'advanced Key Operator Maintenance'. It can be used by you
as reference and logbook.
In order to perform the Level 1 Uptime Optimization actions, you need to have some additional
tools:

Torx screwdriver T20
•
Screwdriver #2
•
Vacuum cleaner
It is up to the local organization to arrange these. Also the normal maintenance tools and supplies
are needed:
