Replacing the I/O card

Before you start, read "Important safety information" on page v and print the following instructions.
Removing the I/O card
Attention: Sensitive components are mounted on the I/O card. Avoid any kind of rough handling during the
replacement.
1. Disable the built-in battery. See "Disabling the built-in battery" on page 76.
2. Ensure that the computer is turned off and disconnected from ac power and all cables.
3. Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
4. Remove the base cover assembly. See "Replacing the base cover assembly" on page 83.
5. Remove the M.2 solid-state drive. See "Replacing the M.2 solid-state drive" on page 89.
6. Depending on the model, the computer might have a retainer installed. Remove the retainer as shown.
7. Detach the cable from the I/O card
