14.2 Mixed Paper Weight Job Productivity

The imagePRESS 1110+ is capable of processing jobs that contain paper with
different paper weights. However, during the processing of jobs with mixed paper
weights, the machine adjusts its fixing temperature, resulting in a slight processing
delay.
There are two modes in Adjust Fixing for Different Paper Weights in Device
Management Settings in System Settings (from the Additional Functions screen) to
help maximize quality or minimize productivity impacts when printing a job with
mixed paper weights:
[Fixing Priority]:
[Standard]:
IMPORTANT
Setting the Adjust Fixing for Different Paper Weights mode to 'Standard' will
decrease the fixing unit's life up to 40%.

14.3 Mixplex Job Productivity

If a job frequently switches from single-sided to double-sided sheets, there is a
slight decrease in productivity from the paper feeding path in the main unit. If
several accessories are attached, the output speed of the mixplex job will result in
a further decrease in productivity.
To improve mixplex job performance, designate a mixplex job as "Duplex" or
"Two-Sided", or ask the dealer to specify the Unify Output Speed mode. The Unify
Output Speed mode enables the machine to output both simplex and duplex pages
at the same speed; however if the lead to trail edge side of a duplex page is larger
than 9", the output speed slows down slightly.
NOTE
• The Unify Output Speed mode is only available if the authorized servicing dealer
activates it in the Service Mode of the machine.
• Tab paper can only be designated as a simplex job.
• Jobs with mixed paper weights can only be designated as simplex.
Version 3
The machine calibrates the fixing temperature to adjust for the
different paper weights selected. This mode provides the
highest quality, but slows down productivity.
This mode is the default setting, and is automatically selected
by the machine. The machine runs at a constant fixing
temperature, regardless of the paper weights to achieve output
results at the engine's rated speed, and maximizes the life of
the fixing roller. Productivity slows down slightly for the first copy
or print set only. However, once the machine calculates and
remembers the paper weights and job settings, the machine
runs at its full speed from the second copy/print set.
