    0117/0118 jam codes: multi-feed due to poor pick-up separation (POD Deck Lite-A1/Paper Deck Unit-C1 [ Inspected by Canon Inc. ] Symptom Multi-feed jam (0117/0118 jam) with the stack placed on the option deck when the stack is a paper of low separation capability.

This change would lower the pressure of the separation roller applied to the feed roller to enhance the separation capability to the multi-feed sheets. 5) Reassemble the parts from the step 3) in reverse order.

  • Page 25 Service work When the above symptom occurs, prepare one piece of the new type sensor holder (FL3-9005) and perform the work by following the procedure below. 1. Open the right door assembly so that the multi paper pick-up assembly is viewed. 2.
  • Page 26 3. If the rib wears out and the sheet hits the bent portion of the sensor holder, replace the old type sensor holder [A] with the new type [B] by following the procedure from step 4 below. The new type has the plate [d] added to cover the bent part [b] of the sensor holder.

    Symptom 0205 Jam occurs due to the deformation of the pre-transfer guide [Inspected by Canon Inc. ] Description 0205 jam occurred. 0205:Registration sensor stationary jam Cause In a jam clearance process, when the fixing/ feeder duplexing assembly is pulled out while the right door remains closed and then the paper is forcibly removed, the paper is caught between the right door assembly and the fixing/ feeder duplexing and pulled.

[Caution] When removing the primary charging assembly, be careful not to touch the PCB [b] of the primary charging assembly.

    Symptom 0105 Jam code/Skewed paper feed due to deformation of the registration assembly [Inspected by Canon Inc. ] Description Skewed paper feed or 0105 jam at the registration assembly occurred in Field. 0105: Registration sensor delay jam Cause If a jam at the registration assembly occurred, normally open the right door assembly to remove the jammed paper.
  • Page 47 Replace the part following the procedure below. 1) Pull the fixing/ feeder duplexing assembly, unscrew the screw to remove the fixing/ feeder right upper cover. 2) Lift the ETB assembly [1] in the direction of the arrow to disconnect the 2 connectors [2]. 3) Set the ETB assembly [1] back and unscrew the 4 screws to remove the registration assembly and the positioning pin [2] at the front side of the registration assembly.
  • Page 48 4) Install the new type of the registration assembly with the 4 screws. At this time, attach the part with attention to the below 3 points: [Caution] - Attach the part so that the pin [1] of the fixing/ feeder duplexing assembly is secured in the rear hole [a] of the registration assembly.

    Symptom 0101/0106 Jam Code [Case in the field ] Description When feeding out of deck 1 jam code 0101 and deck 2 jam code 0106. Field Remedy Loosen the screw and slide the deck pressure plate in the direction of the arrow. Check that the screw position is at the engraved mark (1) and then tighten the screw.

    Symptom 0105/0218 Jam code: Resolved by replacing the pre registration roller (PD-C1/POD Deck Lite-A1) [Case in the field] Description The machine would get jam code 0105 or 0218 only when running paper from side paper deck-C1/POD Deck Lite-A1. Copies from all other paper sources are just fine. When jam code 0105 occurred, the paper is located at the registration rollers (just at the rollers but not in them).

  • Page 53 Field Remedy When the symptom occurred, prepare the pre-registration guide sheet(FE2-0547-000) and attach it onto the pre-registration guide assembly according to the below procedure: 1) Remove the right door assembly [3], and then the pre-registration guide assembly [1]. 2) Remove the screws on the front side [4]/ rear side [7] of the pre-registration guide assembly. 3) Loosen the screw either on the front side [6] or rear side [7] of the pre-registration guide assembly to remove the crossing guide [8].
  • Page 54 -Up-and-down direction: Match the edges of the double-stick tape [c] of the pre-registration guide sheet [2] and the pre-registration guide [9] [c]. [Caution] When attaching the pre-registration guide sheet [2], press the sheet against the double-stick tape attaching area not to leave air bubble there as a measure against the sheet coming off. 6) When attaching the pre-registration guide sheet [2] onto the pre-registration guide [9] is completed, assemble the machine again in a reverse order from the step 4).
