Cause
When the duplexing lower guide assembly is opened for jam clearance and a force is applied to it, each of
the hinge fixed plates [3] (2 pcs) may be deformed because it lacks enough strength to hold the duplexing
lower guide 1 [1] and the duplexing lower guide 2 [2]. A deformed hinge fixed plate causes the duplexing
lower guide to be out of position, leading to the above symptom.
Service work
When the above symptom occurs, prepare 2 pieces of new type hinge fixed plate (FE3-4463) and follow
the steps below to replace the old ones.
1) Open the front cover. Then turn the fixing/ feeding unit pressure release lever in the direction of the
arrow to pull out the fixing/ feeding unit.
