Item
This section explains how to modify system settings after deployment has been
performed, including management and data network IP addresses, ESRS, SNMP, and
licensing.

chapter in this guide.
About this task
After a VxFlex OS system has been deployed, you can use the VxFlex OS GUI to add
management or data IP addresses to the system.
Procedure
1. In the VxFlex OS GUI, from the System Settings menu at the top right side of
the window, select the System Settings option.
The System Settings window is displayed.
2. Select the type of network to which you want to allocate IP addresses:
Management Network or Data Network.
The AMS uses management networks to communicate with and control the
l
appliance objects. No I/O passes through these networks. Management
networks can be on different subnets, as long as the AMS can communicate
with them either via local IP addresses or using a router. If a router is used,
the discovery server must be on the same Level 2 physical network as the
appliance nodes in order to enable 2-layer broadcasts.
For data networks, allocate IP addresses for data networks A and B,
l
10/25/100 GbE networks that are used for inter-node communications, as
well as for passing I/O. For ESXi servers, define ranges for both the ESXi
host and the Storage VM (SVM) that resides on each host.
3. In the appropriate parts of the window, do one of the following:
a. To change the range of an existing IP address pool, edit the addresses.
b. To add another IP address pool, click the + button, and type the new IP
address range in the new row.
Configuring the System using the VxFlex OS GUI
Description
recommended for regular operation is Info. Other
options include: Trace, Debug, Warn, and Error.
Note:
Trace and Debug options may affect
system performance, and are usually only
recommended for technical support purposes.
For more information about logs, see your system's
Log Collection Technical Notes.
