Map the ISO file on a VxFlex Ready Node 14G server

Map the ISO file on a VxFlex Ready Node server.
Before you begin
Ensure that you can access the console.
Procedure
1. If you have not already done so, open the KVM console.
2. In the DELL System Setup screen, select Virtual Media
Media.
The Initializing connection screen is displayed with a connecting message.
You may have to wait for some time for the connecting message to finish.
3. In the DELL System Setup screen, select Virtual Media
4. From the Virtual Media - Map CD/DVD screen, browse and set up the VxFlex
OS ISO file and then click Map Device.
5. To verify the VxFlex OS AMS Node ISO file selection (part of the AMS
download page, located at
Virtual Media and view the ISO selection in the drop down list.
You can select multiple supported ISO images: ESXi 6.0 P6, ESXi 6.5 P2, RHEL
7.3, or RHEL 7.4. The ISOs are patched with Specter and Meltdown fixes.
Note:
For system board and BOSS card replacements, you can use the DTK
ISO for initial firmware update. For information, see "DTK - Hardware
Update Bootable ISO" in the reference section of this publication.
6. From the Next Boot menu, choose the Virtual CD/DVD/ISO.
This option will make the server install the ISO the next time that the server
boots up.
7. To reset the server, in the main DELL System Setup console window, select
Power
Reset System (warm boot) to display the list of keyboard keys with

related functionality.
Results
The server boots, using the OS ISO file, and finishes the installation. The ISO
installation is automatic and will reboot the node twice during the process. No
interaction is required. After the installation, the node will boot up to the operating
system. For ESXi hosts, the SVM is deployed in listening mode, ready for an AMS
detection.
Note:
If you used the DTK ISO, for the next step refer to the "DTK - Hardware
Update Bootable ISO" in the reference section of this publication.
