2. Create a test event for ConnectEMC using the following command:
touch /opt/connectemc/poll/testerror
Results
Within up to 10 minutes (depending on your polling interval setting), ConnectEMC
(ESRS) will generate a file in one of the following directories, depending on the test
result:
If the connection was successful, a file will be saved in /opt/connectemc/
archive.
If the service fails, a file will be saved in /opt/connectemc/archive/failed.

About this task
The following items can be configured:
IP address and port number of the SNMP Trap Receiver—the IP addresses of up
l
to two Trap Receivers can be added to the system. The default port numbers used
for SNMP traps is 162 by default, but can be modified, if necessary.
Frequency of resending traps, in minutes—the traps are calculated based on MDM
l
polling. A repeating trap will be sent the first time that an alert occurs, and will
only be sent again if the resend interval has passed since it was last sent.

To configure SNMP properties, perform the following steps:
Procedure
1. From the System Settings menu at the top right side of the window, in any
view, select the System Settings option.
The System Settings window is displayed.
2. In the left panel, click SNMP.
The Set SNMP Configuration panel is displayed on the right side of the
window.
3. To configure Trap Receivers, do one of the following:
a. To add the first Trap Receiver, type its IP address in the Trap Receiver box,
and the port number in the Port box.
b.
To add another Trap Receiver, click the Add button
A new row is displayed. Type the additional IP address in the new Trap
Receiver box, and the port number in the new Port box.
c.
To remove a Trap Receiver, click the Remove button
that you want to remove.
4. Type a number in the Resend Frequency box.
