Note:
Only configurations supported by the AMS are supported by this
feature.
Operating systems:
l
ESXi 6.0.x or ESXi 6.5.x or ESXi 6.7.x
n
RHEL 7.3, RHEL 7.4, or RHEL 7.5
n
VxFlex OS
l
Ensure that all nodes are running the same version of VxFlex OS software as
n
the AMS.
Networking
l
In two-layer, bare metal systems, layer 1 contains SDS, MDM and LIA
n
components, and can use a 2-channel or 4-channel data network. Layer 2 (both
in ESXi and Linux systems) consists of SDCs only, on a 2-channel data
network.
The iDRAC component of each server should be configured.
n
vCenter (when used) must be configured.
n
Devices
l
On 14G servers running ESXi, NVMe SSD storage devices must be configured
n
as RDM. HDD and other SSD devices must be configured as DirectPath.
On 13G servers running ESXi, all devices must be configured as DirectPath.
n
Prerequisites
On RHEL nodes, ensure that the following packages are installed on every node:
l
libx86emu
n
hwinfo
n

permissions)
Each VxFlex OS data network belongs to a unique subnet.
l
A VxFlex OS MDM virtual IP address must be configured on the two data networks
l
used by the SDCs.
All nodes (including SVM) nodes must be accessible via SSH.
l
Limitations
Nodes that were previously not successfully installed or properly configured will be
l
ignored during the take ownership process.
If the current node credentials do not match the VxFlex OS password policy,
