Additional tasks using the KVM console for VxFlex Ready Node R640/R740xd
servers
The KVM console allows you to perform additional server maintenance tasks.
You can perform the following additional tasks on a VxFlex Ready Node server using
the KVM console server.
Before you begin
Ensure that you can access the KVM console.
Procedure
1. Open the KVM console, as described in
servers
on page 330.
2. You can perform the following tasks from the System Summary dashboard:
Task Option
Blink the server
LED
Retrieve the
chassis serial
number
Power up/down
the server
You can perform the following tasks from the KVM console server on a VxFlex Ready
Node server.
Before you begin
Ensure that you can access the KVM console.
Procedure
1. To activate the server LED, use one of the following methods:
On the dashboard, click Identify System, and then in the Success message
l
click OK.
The LED starts blinking.
To stop the LED from blinking, click Identify System again, and then click
OK.
Open the KVM console - R630/R730xd
Task Steps
a. In the Quick Launch Tasks pane, click System ID LED
ON/OFF and then click OK.
The LED starts blinking.
b. To stop the LED blinking, click System ID LED ON/OFF
again and then click OK.
The LED stops blinking.
a. Click the Properties menu option in the menu bar, select
Details.
The System Details window is displayed.
b. In the Main System Chassis pane, check the chassis
serial number in the Node Id field.
a. In the Quick Launch Tasks pane, click Power ON/OFF.
b. Click OK.
